In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
In light of the guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah, three sounds of blast from the Trumpet will signal the start of the proceedings of the Day of Judgment.
- On the first blast of the Trumpet, an enormous sense of terror and destruction will take place.
- At the second blast of the Trumpet, Allah Subhanah will cause absolutely everything and everyone in creation to die and cease to exist!
- At the third blast of the Trumpet, the souls will be returned back to the bodies, and everyone from Adam to the last man on earth, will rush towards the appointed place or area of assembly.
Although there are several references to the events in the Glorious Quran regarding the events that will transpire on the actual Day of Judgment, the majority of the warning given by the Quran relates to the blowing of the first Trumpet, when an absolute sense of terror and destruction will be unleashed! One can only imagine the sense of the terror that will be unleashed from the warning given in the following Verses of Surah 22 Hajj:
1 O mankind! Fear your Lord! For the convulsion of the Hour (of Judgment) will be a thing terrible!
2 The Day ye shall see it, every mother giving suck shall forget her suckling-babe!, and every pregnant female shall drop her load! thou shalt see mankind as (if) in a drunken riot, yet they will not be drunk! But dreadful (indeed) will be the Wrath of Allah!
What will happen on the day of judgement?
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 70 Surah Maarij verses 1-4:
1 A questioner asked about a Penalty to befall
2 The unbelievers, the which there is none to ward off!
3 (A Penalty) from Allah, Lord of the Ways of Ascent.
4 The angels and the Spirit ascend unto Him in a Day, the measure whereof is (as) fifty thousand years!
The actual Day of Judgment, the measure of which is described by Allah Subhanah as 50,000 years of our reckoning, will take place at the third blowing of the Trumpet. Every soul will be returned back to its body, and everyone will rise from their graves and rush as if in a stampede to the appointed area of assembly!
Allah Subhanah warns and draws a picture in the below Aayahs of some of the events which will befall on the Day of Judgment:
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 18 Surah Kahf verses 99-100:
99 On that day We shall leave them to surge like waves on one another; the Trumpet will be blown and We shall collect them all together.
100 And We shall present Hell that day for the unbelievers to see, all spread out!
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 39 Surah Zumar verses 68-70:
68 The Trumpet will (just) be sounded, when, all that are in the heavens and on earth will swoon except such as it will please Allah (to exempt). Then will a second one be sounded, when behold they will be standing and looking on!
69 And the earth will shine with the Glory of its Lord: the Record (of Deeds) will be placed (open); the Prophets and the witnesses will be brought forward: and a just decision pronounced between them; and they will not be wronged (in the least).
70 And to every soul will be paid in full (the fruit) of its deeds; and (Allah) knoweth best all that they do.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 50 Surah Qaf verses 20-24:
20 And the Trumpet shall be blown: that will be the Day whereof warning (had been given).
21 And there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (Angel) to drive and an (Angel) to bear witness.
22 (It will be said:) “Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil and sharp is thy sight this Day!”
23 And his companion will say: “Here is (his record) ready with me!”
24 (The sentence will be:) “Throw! Throw into Hell every contumacious Rejector (of Allah)!
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 23 Surah Muminoon verses 101-104:
101 Then when the Trumpet is blown there will be no more relationships between them that day nor will one ask after another!
102 Then those whose balance (of good deeds) is heavy they will attain salvation:
103 But those whose balance is light will be those who have lost their souls; in Hell will they abide.
104 The Fire will burn their faces and they will therein grin with their lips displaced!
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 69 Surah Haaqaah verses 13-18:
13 Then when one Blast is sounded on the Trumpet
14 And the earth is moved and its mountains and they are crushed to powder at one stroke
15 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass
16 And the sky will be rent asunder for it will that Day be flimsy
17 And the Angels will be on its sides and eight will that Day bear the Throne of thy Lord above them.
18 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden.
Once the people have been assembled naked and uncircumcised in the appointed place of assembly, and the sun with its unbearable heat is right above their heads, and every person will be sweating from the heat and the fear of that Day according to his deeds, and absolutely unbearable will be the terror and distress of all those assembled….the Messenger of Allah (saws) related that these proceedings will take place amongst them:
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 6.236 Narrated by Abu Huraira
The Messenger of Allah (saws) “I will be the chief of all the people on the Day of Resurrection. Do you know the reason for it? Allah will gather all the human beings of early generations as well as late generations on one plain so that the announcer will be able to make them all hear his voice and the watcher will be able to see all of them. The sun will come so close to the people that they will suffer such distress and trouble as they will not be able to bear or stand. Then the people will say, ‘Don’t you see to what state you have reached? Won’t you look for someone who can intercede for you with your Lord?’ Some people will say to some others, ‘Go to Adam.’ So they will go to Adam and say to him, ‘You are the father of mankind; Allah created you with His Own Hand, and breathed into you of His Spirit, and ordered the Angels to prostrate before you; so (please) intercede for us with your Lord. Don’t you see in what state we are? Don’t you see what condition we have reached?’ Adam will say, ‘Today my Lord has become Angry as He has never been before, nor will ever become thereafter. He forbade me (to eat of the fruit of) the tree, but I disobeyed Him. Myself! Myself! Myself! (has more need for intercession). Go to someone else; go to Noah.’ So they will go to Noah and say (to him), ‘O Noah! You are the first (of Allah’s Messengers) to the people of the earth, and Allah has named you a thankful slave; please intercede for us with your Lord. Don’t you see in what state we are?’ He will say, ‘Today my Lord has become Angry as He has never been nor will ever become thereafter. I had (in the world) the right to make one definitely accepted invocation, and I made it against my nation. Myself! Myself! Myself! Go to someone else; go to Abraham.’ They will go to Abraham and say, ‘O Abraham! You are Allah’s Messenger and His Khalil from among the people of the earth; so please intercede for us with your Lord. Don’t you see in what state we are?’ He will say to them, ‘My Lord has today become Angry as He has never been before, nor will ever become thereafter. I had told three lies! Myself! Myself! Myself! Go to someone else; go to Moses.’ The people will then go to Moses and say, ‘O Moses! You art Allah’s Messenger and Allah gave you superiority above the others with His message and with His direct Talk to you; (please) intercede for us with your Lord! Don’t you see in what state we are?’ Moses will say, ‘My Lord has today become Angry as He has never been before, nor will become thereafter, I killed a person whom I had not been ordered to kill. Myself! Myself! Myself! Go to someone else; go to Jesus.’ So they will go to Jesus and say, ‘O Jesus! You are Allah’s Messenger and His Word which He sent to Mary, and a superior soul created by Him, and you talked to the people while still young in the cradle. Please intercede for us with your Lord. Don’t you see in what state we are?’ Jesus will say, ‘My Lord has today become angry as He has never been before nor will ever become thereafter. Jesus will not mention any sin, but will say, ‘Myself! Myself! Myself! Go to someone else; go to Muhammad.’ So they will come to me and say, ‘O Muhammad (saws)! You are Allah’s Messenger and the Last of the Prophets, and Allah forgave your early and late sins. (Please) intercede for us with your Lord. Don’t you see in what state we are?’ ” The Prophet (saws) added, “Then I will go beneath Allah’s Throne and fall in prostration before my Lord. And then Allah will guide me to such praises and glorification to Him as He has never guided anybody else before me. Then it will be said, ‘O Muhammad! Raise your head. Ask, and it will be granted. Intercede! It (your intercession) will be accepted.’ So I will raise my head and say, ‘My followers, O my Lord! My followers, O my Lord’. It will be said, ‘O Muhammad! Let those of your followers who have no accounts, enter through such a Gate of the Gates of Paradise as lies on the right; and they will share the other Gates with the people.’” The Prophet (saws) further said, “By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, the distance between every two gate-posts of Paradise is like the distance between Mecca and Busra (in Sham).”
All of mankind has been assembled in the Place of assembly! The sun with all its heat is right over one’s head! There is prevalent an imaginable, unbelievable, inconceivable, and absolutely unbearable state of terror! Such will be the unbearable and intolerable fear and fright on that Day, that some amongst mankind will approach the Noble Prophets of Allah and seek their intercession only to beg and implore Allah Subhanah to start the proceedings of this Tumultuous Day!
At the Command of Allah Subhanah, all the Angels along with the likes of Hadrat Jibrael (a.s.), Mikaeel (a.s.), Israel (a.s.), Israfeel (a.s.), etc. will stand forth in ranks in awe and in fear of the Lord Most High, Most Supreme.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 78 Surah Nabaa verses 38-39:
38 The Day that the Spirit and the Angels will stand forth in ranks none shall speak except any who is permitted by (Allah) Most Gracious and he will say what is right.
39 That Day will be the sure Reality: therefore whoso will let him take a (straight) Return to his Lord!
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 69 Surah Haaqaah verses 17-18:
17 And the Angels will be on its sides and eight will that Day bear the Throne of thy Lord above them.
18 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden.
Normally, the four Angels mentioned above bear the Majestic Throne of Allah Subhanah; but the State, Might, Majesty and Presence of that Day will be so overbearing, that the Quran Declares that Eight Angels will bear the Throne of the Majestic Lord!
Then, finally, will Descend the Majestic Lord Most High, Most Supreme, in all the Honor, the Splendor, and the Grandeur that suits His Majesty and His Magnificence Alone! And only then will the court proceedings of this Tumultuous Day will take place starting with the Prophets, then the most righteous amongst men to the least righteous, and then the least of the sinners to the worst of them! Each and every shaking and trembling individual will be brought forth to give a full account of his deeds, individually and singly in the Presence of the Majestic Lord and Judge…and the Lord Most Just Most Supreme will announce His Decision of Paradise or Hell Fire for each and every individual in all Justice!
Dear and Beloved Brother, there are many details related to this Day which are related in the Quran and the Sunnah, but we have tried to give you only a brief preview and a portrayal of the chronological proceedings of this Inevitable and Tumultuous Day of Judgment in light of the guidance of the Quran and Sunnah.
We take refuge in Allah’s Mercy from His Wrath and Anger, and in absolutel humility and all fear, beseech, beg, and implore our Lord Most Gracious, Most Merciful to envelope you, us and all the believers with His Mercy on that Tumultuous Day of Judgment. Allah is our witness brother, none except those on whom the Lord Pleases to have Mercy will be safe from the unbelievable and unbearable terror of that Day!
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
