At beginning of sexual intercourse

Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas:
The Prophet said, “If anyone of you, when intending to have a sexual intercourse with his wife, says: ‘Bismillah, Allahumma jannibna-sh-shaitan, wa jannibi-sh-shaitan ma razaqtana,’ and if the couple are destined to have a child (out of that very sexual relation), then Satan will never be able to harm that child.”

Dua for Speech

“Oh My Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). And ease my task for me; And loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, That they may understand my speech” (Qur’aan: 20:26)

Prophet Musa (pbuh) made this dua while proceeding to the court of Firawn for the arguments. In this dua, there is a request to increase one’s knowledge base – an important requirement for arguments. The second request is to remove physical limitations or limitation of resources. The third request is to allow him make lucid, easy to understand arguments. As we know, Musa (pbuh) was successful in the Firawn’s court and the wise men in the court had accepted the truth.

When Wearing a Garment

“Oh Allah, all praise and thanks to You for clothing me with this (garment). I ask You for the good of it and the good of what it was made for, and I ask Your protection from the evil of it and the evil of what it was made for.” (Abu Dawud Book 32, Number 4009: Tirmidhi (59) Hadith Number 7)

When entering the Masjid

“O Lord, forgive my sins and open the doors of mercy for me”. (Mishkat)

Alternatively recite

“O Allah, open the doors of mercy”. (Mishkat)

While Entering the Graveyard

Imam Husain (a.s.) says whoever enter a graveyard says as follows, Allah will write in his record ‘goodness’ equivalent to the number of creation from the period of Hazrat Adam (a.s.) to the occurrence of Resurrection.

In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful. O Allah the Lord of these souls that have left (this world) and these stale bodies and these rotten bones that have made and exit from this world in the state of having faith in thee, Grant them ease from Thyself and greeting from me.

When visiting the sick

“There is no problem, If Allah wills, He will purge your sins by this illness.” (Bukhari)

And recite this dua seven times for his good health

“I ask Allah who is the Lofty and the Lord of the Mighty Throne that He cures you”

Prophet Mohammad (SAW.) said that by reciting this dua seven times, the ill person will regain his health and if death occurs then that (death) is a different issue (i.e. death is written it cannot be prevented). (Mishkat)

Upon Sneezing

All praise is for Allah.
